CarbonEthics is a tech-enabled Ecosystem Restoration Company specializing in carbon project development, pioneering in the blue carbon ecosystem. We bridge ecosystem restoration, climate finance, and regulatory expertise to create high-integrity, scalable carbon solutions.
CarbonEthics is developing high-quality nature-based projects to restore the climate balance while improving the livelihood of local communities and supporting biodiversity. Our Story
Our Co-founders first met at One Young World Summit 2018 in the Netherlands, taking their parts as the representative of their respective companies to solve the world's most pressing issues, including climate change. Their inherent nature led them to bring CarbonEthics to the table.
The ferocity of the climate imbalance led CarbonEthics to be founded in May 2019. By building high-quality projects aimed to restore climate, empowers community, and thriving biodiversity. We exist to drive climate solutions in Indonesia that contribute meaningful impact on people and the planet. Starting as a Not-For-Profit Organization, CarbonEthics is now expanding our arm with a social enterprise leg, partnering with other businesses and institutions to accelerate the race to net zero.

We started our blue carbon conservation with mangroves in Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta
2020
Our first expansion to restore the house of beautiful coral reefs, Bali
Our first prominent supporter is World Resource Institute Indonesia, that trusts us to be their implementation partner up till date
2021
We expanded to Bintan Island in Sumatra, which has massive potential for seagrass and mangrove
Started to be involved by several Indonesian Ministries in carbon-related discussions, such as the Ministry of Environment & Forestry during COP26 UNFCCC
Our first featurettes by international media, such as Forbes and World Bank
We are currently supporting the G20 event series to be carbon neutral through our carbon consulting and offsetting service

Transjakarta Partnership, place climate education to all bus stop

Secured US$2.1 million in seed funding led by Intudo Ventures to scale restoration, drive climate action, and support communities.
Earned B Corp certification for meeting high standards of environmental and social performance
Initiative of The Year” award at the Indonesia Social Responsibility Awards (ISRA) 2024, honoring our innovative science-based approach to climate action and community engagement.
